A three phase, 265hp A/C motor powers the X-1.

The batteries that power this wingless electric jet are Lithium Ion.

A/C motors do not need to have an transmission, but are ultimately speed-limited by this factor. The X-1 has 1 speed, fast. Up to 13,000 RPMs at as much as 118 mph.

The only model that Wrightspeed is known to produce is the X-1. This prototype vehicle is not much more than an open-air F-1 Racer body with an A/C motor and a pack of laptop batteries.
