From Electric Vehicles Wiki

The LincVolt project is Neil Young's entry into the X-Prize Competition. The vehicle is a classic 1959 Lincoln Continental Mark IV, stripped of it's internal combustion engine and supporting parts to be replaced with an AC electric motor and Lithium Ion batteries.
